Mr. Reams is in his 13th year teaching in the Leechburg Area School District where, he is proud to say, the performing arts are valued, alive and well!  
Mr. Reams graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education and earned a Master of Music degree in percussion performance at the University of North Texas.  Rob’s percussion teachers include Gary Olmstead, Mark Ford, Ed Soph, Christopher Deane, Ed Smith, and José Aponte.  At the University of North Texas, Rob arranged for and taught the UNT Green Brigade Marching Band’s front ensemble.  Rob performed on multiple recordings with the UNT Wind Symphony, including Allegories, Retrospectives, Passions, Poetics, and Teaching Music Through Performance in Band, Volume 5, Grades 2-3.  Rob has recorded with the Keystone Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Jack Stamp, recording Teaching Music Through Performance in Band, Volume 2, Grade 4, Leroy Anderson: Phantom Regiment and other Tales, Tempo di Bourgeois, under the baton of Col. John R. Bourgeois, United States Marine Corps, (Ret) and Grace and Glory: The Music of Jack Stamp.  Rob regularly performs with Pittsburgh Taiko, teaches private percussion lessons and occasionally serves as a percussion clinician in the area.
Our music department offers Band, Chorus, Advanced Chorus, and Piano Methods I/II.  Out of the experiences offered by the LASD Rob teaches instrumental music (grades 4-12), Marching Band, the Middle School and High School Percussion Ensembles, and Leechburg Taiko.  The marching band has had many sucesses, most recently winning the PIMBA Class A Championship in both 2016 and 2017.  A Japanese drumming group, Leechburg Taiko often performs outside of the school.  In the spring of 2014 Leechburg Taiko performed by invitation at IUP,  in Danville, PA at Maria Joseph Manor and in Hershey, PA at the PMEA In-Service Conference.  In 2015 Leechburg Taiko performed at Twin Valley High School.  In 2016 Leechburg Taiko performed at the Percussive Arts Society PA Day of Percussion at Millersville University.  In 2017 Leechburg Taiko performed at Slippery Rock University, Shannock Valley Elementary and South Buffalo Elementary.  Leechburg Taiko has also participated in workshops taught by San Jose Taiko, Kenny Endo, and Mark H Rooney.
