Dear Leechburg Area School District Residents,
The district hosted three town hall meetings last night to share information regarding the taxation of residents and the Ready to Learn Tax Equity funding awarded to our district. I have included the handouts on this page, which represent the background to the tax equity funding, a timeline of our current work to try and solve this issue, the historical tax rates since the 2017-2018 school year, and a line graph showing the actual dollar difference between the counties as a result of the formula currently used by PDE. As a district, we must find a way to solve this issue if we want to survive as a district in the future. Please review the documents and feel free to call me if you have any questions.
