Summer Sessions Instructional Positions

 

Elementary Teaching Positions
The Leechburg Area School District is seeking ideal candidates to fill the openings for the In-Person Summer Learning Program positions of Summer Reading Institute Instructors and Summer Math Remediation Instructors within the Elementary School.
Qualifications:
1.) Valid Pennsylvania Department of Education certification in the content area required
2.) All required clearances updated and on file
3.) Fulfill all performance responsibilities
4.) Make a commitment to teach the entire summer program schedule **Preference will be given to those who can teach the entire Summer Program.
5.) Maintain a positive attitude with students
6.) Such alternatives to the above as the Board of Education or Administration may find appropriate and acceptable
 
Reports To: Elementary Administrator
 
Compensation: Compensation will be in accordance with the LEA/PSEA collective bargaining agreement wage matrix

Dates/Hours of Employment: Session I: June 21, 2021 through June 24, 2021. Session II: July 12, 2021 through July 15, 2021. Session III: August 9, 2021 through August 12, 2021. 2 hours per day plus 3 total hours of prep. Total paid hours for each instructor would be 27 hours for all three sessions of instruction. ELA will meet daily during the hours of 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Math will meet daily from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM.

Position Expectations: The general duties of the In-Person Summer Learning Program Instructors include, but are not limited to the following:
The Instructors will develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within the limits provided by the district, and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the student. Instructors should be prepared for the class assigned, and show written evidence of preparation upon request of superiors in the form of lesson plans and other organizational techniques. Instructors should employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided, the needs and capabilities of the individuals or groups of students involved, and with stated objectives.
 
 
Secondary Teaching Positions
The Leechburg Area School District is seeking ideal candidates to fill the openings for the In-Person Summer Learning Program positions of ELA Instructor, Social Studies Instructor, Special Education Instructor, Math Instructor and Science Instructor within the High School.
 
Qualifications:
1.) Valid Pennsylvania Department of Education certification in the content area required

3.) Fulfill all performance responsibilities
4.) Make a commitment to teach the entire summer program schedule **Preference will be given to those who can teach the entire Summer Program
5.) Maintain a positive attitude with students

Reports To: High School Administrator
 
Compensation: Compensation will be in accordance with the LEA/PSEA collective bargaining agreement wage matrix
 
Dates/Hours of Employment: July 6 through July 23, 2021, 3 hours per day plus 3 total hours of prep. Total paid hours for each instructor would be 45 hours. ELA, Social Studies and Special Education will meet daily during the hours of 7:30 AM to 10:30 AM. Math and Science will meet daily from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Central Administration Office
 
Director of Business Affairs
The Leechburg Area School District is seeking the ideal candidate to fill the position of Director of Business Affairs.

Qualifications:
1.) MBA or Bachelor’s Degree in Business or similar related discipline
2.) Two to four years of experience in a public school district
3.) Professional registration with PASBO desirable
3.) All required clearances updated and on file
4.) Use of technology in all aspects of the position is essential; must be proficient with Microsoft Office software, experience with ProSoft Financial Software a plus

Position Expectations:
Under the direction of the Superintendent, the Director of Business Affairs shall administer the fiscal affairs of the district. Specific areas of oversight and responsibility include, but not limited to, payroll, taxes, cash management, budget development, PDE financial reporting, audit and facilities oversight, investments, capital financing, purchasing, food service and all personnel related matters.
 
Candidate should be detail-oriented, and possess a strong work ethic with excellent leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Food Service

 

Cafeteria Summer Workers - Summer Food Program 

The Leechburg Area School District is seeking ideal candidates to fill the following positions: Cafeteria Staff – Summer Workers (Approximately 3.0 Hours/Day during summer feeding program June 7 through August 20, 2021).

 

Reports To: Food Service Director

Compensation: Compensation will be in accordance with the SEIU collective bargaining agreement wage matrix
 
Position Expectations:
The general duties of the Cafeteria Staff Positions – Summer Workers include, but not limited to the following:
The Cafeteria Staff Positions – Summer Workers are generally responsible for basic food preparation, meal serving, cleaning and dishwashing. Collaboratively works as integral members of the food service staff to enable the smooth flow of summer food distribution.
