If a student requires medication during the school day, the following criteria must be met:
- All prescription medication must be accompanied by written instruction from the Medical Doctor, DO, Dentist, Physician Assistant or CRNP.
- Over the Counter Medication, such as, Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Tums, Cough Medicine, Etc. needs a medication administration form filled out by the parent before administration of the medication will be performed.
- All prescription and non prescription medication is to be in its original labeled container.
- All medication will be kept in the Nurse’s office. The only exception is medication such as albuterol inhalers and epi-pens. These medications may be kept with the student if a note from the prescribing physician accompanies the medication. The note must state that the child is qualified and able to self-administer the medication.
