'Breaking Dawn - Part 1': 'Twilight' series draws closer to finale (thank goodness!)

“The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” is the penultimate movie of the “Twilight” movie franchise.
The film begins with an outraged Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) running from his house and transforming into a werewolf after having read an invitation to the wedding of Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) and Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson). The movie then shifts to preparations for the wedding and to Edward visiting Bella the night before the wedding.
Several speeches highlight the wedding the next day; some are humorous, like that of Bella’s father Charlie Swan (Billy Burke), or idiotic, like most of the other speeches. After the wedding, Bella and Edward depart for their honeymoon on an island off the coast of Brazil. While the newlyweds are on their honeymoon, they consummate their marriage.
This action leads to a major problem as Bella becomes pregnant with a human -vampire hybrid that threatens her health. Edward wishes to have the baby removed and killed but Bella refuses. Additionally, the baby causes issues with Jacob’s werewolf pack that desire to kill the baby. All these factors lead to a very tense situation.
Let me preface my analysis with a couple things to set the background on the rest of my review. First, I have actually read the “Twilight” novels, so I did know what is going on in the movies. Second, I was forced to go see this movie.
“Breaking Dawn – Part 1” contains nothing of major excitement in the action department, though the werewolves were somewhat interesting.
The plot is, frankly, awful. This plot’s problems have nothing to do with what the movie producers created. It’s simply the fault of the source material. Unfortunately, the wishy-washy teenage melodrama is carried in full from the novel to the big screen, making for an utterly atrocious movie. Additionally, the movie ends in a horrible spot, which is probably my only critique “Twilight” fans will agree with.
In the end “Break Dawn – Part 1” is something that will excite fans of the “Twilight” novels while boring to death or disgusting any other viewers.
