Thank you to everyone who commented on my blog about Ugg boots. However, Ugg boots are mostly worn in the cooler months. So rather than dwell on the cold weather, we are going to move onto something that can be worn all year, an accessory that can definitely spice up an outfit.
Necklaces! Necklaces! Necklaces! Where to begin? There are so many types of necklaces out there – long ones, short ones, skinny ones, fat ones, black ones, white ones, silver ones, gold ones and more!
And necklaces aren’t just for girls. Guys wear them too. Many guys have either a silver or gold chain with a number or symbol that means something to them, usually sports-related. Like girls, guys can wear necklaces every day with any outfit whether they are dressing up, going casual, or having a bum day. The best part is that most necklaces are affordable to people on every budget. Average prices for guys’ necklaces range from about $50 to $400. However, department stores such as Macy's and JC Penney's have in-store and online discounts that can save a ton of money! Whatever guys may have on their chains, they wear them with pride and can show everyone that guys can accessorize too!
Girls enjoy far more variety when it comes to necklaces. Today, it is common for girls to wear simple chains with pendants. Chains are usually sterling silver or gold. Hearts, stars, crosses, angel wings and crowns are the most popular pendants seen here at Leechburg. Long necklaces have become increasing popular here too. The reason? They are simple but add length to the torso and make a plain shirt really pop. Layered long necklaces, also known as Madonna necklaces, have been seen all over the New York Fashion Week runways because they can make an outfit look edgy, feminine or playful.
You can find a considerable variety of these necklaces anywhere you can find clothes: Body Central, Wet Seal, JC Penney, Macy's, Guess and Banana Republic. Prices range from about $10 to $200 or higher depending on which style necklace and metal you buy. The “real” precious metals are sterling silver and gold with sterling silver much less expensive than gold. If the metals are not marked, they are probably made from other metals which are simply silver- or goldtone and are most likely much cheaper too. What you have to do is decide what you like better: the look or the prices.
Necklaces are very popular in our school, in Pennsylvania, in the United States and all over the world. Look around you! Several people you encounter every day are probably wearing necklaces. Are you? Do you have a favorite style? Let me know what you think about necklaces!
