'Seussical' takes center stage this weekend

Who doesn’t like the Cat in the Hat? Or Horton the Elephant? Or Yertle the Turtle? Or Max the Dog? Or even the Grinch – after he grows his heart, of course? All of these children’s characters from perennial favorite Dr. Seuss will take the stage this weekend to perform “Seussical,” this year’s Drama Club musical that combines many of Dr. Seuss’s beloved stories into one lively, comedic adventure.

The audience will follow the trail as the Cat in the Hat takes them on a journey with Horton the Elephant to find his missing Whos. Along the way, different characters from the Seuss world appear and disappear. Audiences of all ages can enjoy this musical as  the songs never grow old and the visual scenery and lighting amazes even the cast.

Tickets are available for the three performances April 16-18: Friday and Saturday evening at 8 and the Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. Adult tickets are $7 and student tickets $5. For more information, call: 724.842.0571 x357 or email musical director Emily King at eking@leechburg.k12.pa.us.

Can't wait for this year's musical

"Seussical" was so good! I love everything Dr. Seuss, so this was amazing. All of the bright colors and catchy songs pulled the whole thing together. Great job. I can't wait until this year's play!

Good reviews -- too bad I missed it!

I heard the musical was really great this year. However, I was unable to attend, which I regret. It's nice to see how dedicated the students of our school can be.

Adorable! Fantastic!

I sold tickets Friday and Saturday night and both nights were packed! I saw "Seussical" and I thought it was adorable. Kristen Miskinis was fabulous! The people in the audience could not believe that she is only in the 8th grade. Fantastic job, Cast!

Can't wait until next year

"Seussical" was the best musical I have ever seen. Great job, Everyone!! I am looking forward to next year's musical.

Being in cast better than being in audience

Posted by "Natalie Sulava" on April 27, at 8:22 p.m.

Many people have told me how fun it was to see the musical. However, I think the most enjoyable part was to actually be in the musical. It was such a great experience and very enjoyable for everyone who participated.

Musical a memorable experience

I loved "Seussical"! It seemed like a fun and enjoyable musical to participate in. The songs were great even though I had to hear them every day for the past couple of months because of my sister. They are great and I find myself humming them sometimes. The cast did an excellent job!

Proud mom sends kudos

As a proud mom, I am always amazed at the wonderful job the students and teachers do each year during the musical!!! "Seussical" was no exception!!

So nice I saw it twice

I went on Friday and Saturday to see "Seussical," and I enjoyed watching it both times. The new light effects were interesting, and the singing was great. It was also funny. Congratulations to the cast for doing a great job. I can't wait to see the next musical.

'Seussical' a success!

I thought that the musical was fantastic. "Seussical" is definitely a musical that the whole audience can enjoy, young or old. I was laughing the whole time and I know that everyone loved it.

Thanks for audience support!

I would like to thank everybody that came to the musical. We almost sold out Friday night! I hope everybody enjoyed the show and our hard work paid off. If you didn't attend, you really missed out on a good show because the audience was laughing nonstop.

Great even if I must say so myself!

Posted by "Emily Steininger" on April 19, at 9:05 p.m.

I think "Suessical" was AWESOME, and I'm not just saying that because I was in it. The cast was very good and all are very talented. I think the effects were cool because of the new moving lights and scrim we had this year. Congratulations to the cast for a great show!

Outstanding musical!

I went the "Seussical" on opening night and loved every moment of it! I would like to also congratulate everyone who participated in the play. You all did an outstanding job! I cannot wait to see what next year's play may have in store!

Missing in the musical

Posted by "Maddie Bond" on April 16, at 3:14 p.m.

I'm so excited to go see the musical. This is the first year I haven't participated. I have been in five musicals and loved it, but this year I didn't have to time to commit to it. It's going to be very different to be in the audience this year, but I can't wait to support my friends in what will surely be a great performance.
