Leechburg Area Jr./Sr. High School
Our goal at Leechburg Jr./Sr. High School is to provide our students with an educational environment that incorporates academic rigor and civic responsibility. We strive to assist all students achieve success so that they can become valuable members of our community. The professional staff at Leechburg uses a variety of instructional strategies to assist students meet challenging academic standards. The Leechburg Area Jr./Sr. High School consists of students in grades 7 through 12 and has an estimated enrollment of 413 students. The Jr. High School includes students in grades 7 and 8 and the Sr. High School comprises grades 9 through 12. The Jr. High School curriculum is designed to meet the needs of students in all major subject areas. Each student is given the opportunity to succeed to the maximum of his / her capability. High achieving students have the opportunity to accelerate in mathematics by taking pre-algebra in grade 7 and beginning a foreign language program in grade 8. All students take classes designed to enhance their computer skills which include keyboarding, computer programming and Internet / Microsoft Word. Their educational experience is enriched through participation in Art, Music, Family and Consumer Sciences, Industrial Arts and Physical Education classes.
The Leechburg Area Jr./Sr. High School curriculum has been aligned to the Pennsylvania State Standards and the district’s strategic plan. It is our goal to educate all of our students to their fullest potential and prepare them for the next step in their life. Please remember that Leechburg offers a seminar period so that students can receive additional academic support from their teachers.
